I received all my academic degrees from New York University, in Psychology and Clinical Social Work. In addition, as a postgraduate, I completed my Psychoanalytic residency and training at The National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP) in NYC. From a theoretical standpoint, for those interested, my clinical practice is very eclectic, although I do have leanings psychoanalytically. The work of Heinz Kohut‘s self psychology and the current relational turn in psychoanalysis are strong influences in my work. However, I do often find the voices of the British Middle School and Carl Jung often resound in my head as I work.
My psychoanalytic practice is the result of a 25 year diverse professional career, which began in Psychology, first in NYC and then in London, U.K.. I trained and worked in a variety of treatment modalities and interventions within a wide field of settings and patients, including; hospital executive administration, ward staff, grass roots organizations, NGOs, clinics, sub-acute settings, prisons and drug treatment centers. Diverse ideas and cultures, an eclectic philosophical posture, humanism, pastoral care and critical thinking all inform my ideas and are at the core of all my professional endeavors
